Ball grinding mill is suitable for grinding all kinds of minerals,and it is widely used in iron ore dressing, building materials, chemistry, glass-ceramics, silicates products and other industries.

With large loading capacity and power consumption, the industrial grinding machines usually adopt 1-2 high-capacity motors to drive hard cylinder gear reducer via hydraulic clutch and drive barrel through gear wheel. Thus the ball mill can be used for grinding materials. The industrial ball mill are of low speed and heavy loading equipments and additional start motor, and soft start device will be used in order to launch. There is large scope for saving energy because the torque will reduce after the start.

The main engine of the grinding machine is composed of the barrel, and the bearings is used to sustain the rotating and the driver parts such as motor, belt pulley and  vee-belt etc.  The helical blade can not be specified as the part of the industrial grinding machine if there is helical conveyor in the auxiliary equipments of the discharge. 

According to the material and the way of ore discharge, wet type and dry type ball grinder can be selected.

Classifications:

According to the transmission model, it can be pided into center driving mill and edge driving mill. The motor of the center driving mill will drive the discharge end hollow shaft to start to mill .As mentioned above, according to the technological operation, there are wet and dry type grinding machine, intermittent and continuity grinding machine. Due to the large electric consumption and complicated operation maintenance, the intermittent grinding machines are rarely used and they are adopted in the laboratory test.

Operation maintenance:

The running rate of the ball mill machine will be enhanced and the span of the machine can be lengthened if the ball mill is properly maintained.

Firstly, it is of importance to check the situation of every lubrication point and the height of lubrication  every  four hours.  All the lubrication needs to de discharged after one month, and the mill need to be cleaned thoroughly. During the normal mill running, the temperature of the drive bearing and the reduction gears should be among 55’C and 50’C. The grinding mill runs steadily and there is no strong vibration. It is necessary to adjust the space between the big and the small gear to avoid noise.

Secondly , check the wear situation of the mill in time  after fastening the firmware.

Thirdly, the small gears and the main bearing  need to be changed if badly worn while the big gear continue to be used in another side.

All in all, it is a regular work to maintain the ball mill. Besides, the important parts such as the main gear, reduction motor and the hollow shaft, can be examined per month, and the situation can be recorded for further medium and big maintain plans.
